Who can get a St. Mary Parish Library card?

Library cards are free for all St. Mary Parish residents as well as those who currently have a valid library card from Acadia Parish, Allen Parish, Iberia Parish, Lafayette Public, Lafourche Parish, Opelousas, Eunice, Morgan City, St. Martin Parish, Terrebonne Parish, or Vermillion Parish libraries. Nonresidents may apply for borrowing privileges by paying the current fee established by the St. Mary Parish Library Board of Control, which is $35 annually.

Simply bring proof of residency and proof of identity (two separate documents) to any of our seven branches, along with a completed library card application. Children and teens under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian with an active adult library card register for them.

The replacement fee for a lost or damaged card is $2.00.

Louisiana law protects the privacy of the data in your library record. Information we gather to issue you a card and information which links you to the material you borrow is private. It may not be disclosed except for library purposes, unless ordered by a court.

If you are unable to visit us in person to register for a new library card, please send us an email request at info@stmaryparishlibrary.org. You may also call us directly for more information at any St. Mary Parish Library location.
